Genetic Variability of Gladiolus (Gladiolus grandiflorus) Cultivar under Prayagraj Agro-Climatic Conditions in Uttar Pradesh, India

An experiment to Study on genetic variability of Gladiolus (Gladiolus grandiflorus) cultivars under prayagraj agro-climatic conditions was carried out at Departmental research field Horticulture, Naini Agriculture Institute during the Rabi season 2021-2022 with Eight Cultivars in randomized block design three replications. The viz. White prosperity, Mohini, Hunting song, Creamy green, Suchitra, Samara, Nova, Peterpears. Evaluated were twenty-five means estimated Genetic variability, heritability, phenotypic coefficient variation (PCV) higher than genotypic (GCV) and correlation. characters, Plant height (30, 60, 90 DAS), Number leaves per plant (30,60,90 No. shoot plant, Days taken for corm sprouting, Rachis length, spike emergence, days colour break stage, floret spike, first open, last diameter, vase life, Weight daughter corm, mother weight, hectare, cormels hectare Corm yield/plant observed all characters. Highest GCV PCV recorded (g) (33.6786 47.569), (37.743 37.97), (27.961 32.13), open (30.0614 30.0889), (23.667 29.334), (25.6022 28.1499),Corm weight (21.75 25.49), sprouting (23.7566 23.7566) lowest (2.7578 3.3549). genotypes green prosperity found produce highest yields plot numbers respectively. These may be sown showed a good response selection due their high advance, which additive gene effect. can utilised selectively increase yield component attributes.
